Using Power Tools: Yes you can girl!

One of the most intimidating things about working on your vintage trailer is using POWER TOOLS! This will probably resonate with a lot of you--I spent most of my life terrified of a circular saw! The idea of a huge blade spinning at limb-severing speed was enough to send me into a panic attack. But I got over it, and you can too honey!

I took wood shop in middle school back when they still offered it. Yes, this dates me for sure, and no, it wasn't the 1950s! Even then I only used the power tools because the macho shop/gym teacher was almost as scary as the tools themselves. With visions of severed fingers in my head, I made a napkin holder for my parents. They must have discreetly thrown it out when I wasn't looking because I never saw it again--oh well.

Too bad I remember exactly ZERO from the class. Sadly, few schools offer these types of classes anymore even though they are incredibly useful. If you don't have someone to show you the ropes, power tools can be really intimidating!

I will admit, I still get a little nervous with some of the tools I don't use regularly, but the more you use them, the more confident you will feel. I promise! I started off with just my power drill at first, which is really easy to master. Graduated to a jigsaw, circular saw and now I own my own table saw! Little ol' me, who would have thought?

Lucky for us gals, we have a wealth of information on power tools and how to find the right one for the job on the web. I don't do my own videos on how to use power tools, I am not the expert, but I am addicted to "Anika's DIY Life" on YouTube.

Love this chick! She is sweet, easy to follow for beginners and somehow makes using these tools seem so much less menacing. Not only is she very safety conscious, she is really engaging. I also dig her accent (full disclosure)!

To work on your own trailer, here are a few of her videos, for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy! Love you Anika!

You can do it yourself, my cool chick friend, I believe in you!

As always, Happy Atomic Trails!
